Story
Synopsis
Awakened from subterranean damnation by the vengeful astral spirits of Eris, Abel, and Poseidon, the fallen angel Lucifer invades Sanctuary with his four Demonic Angels. Decapitating the sacred statue of Athena and unleashing catastrophic earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and typhoons worldwide, Lucifer demands Athena sacrificial blood in his dread Pandemonium fortress. To spare humanity from extinction, Saori Kido ascends the cursed thorny steps of Pandemonium alone. Pegasus Seiya and his battered Bronze Saint comrades battle through grotesque demonic guardians, channeling the collective Cosmo of the twelve Gold Constellations to vanquish the prince of darkness.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Premiering in March 1989 at the Toei Manga Matsuri and directed by Masayuki Akehi, this fourth *Saint Seiya* cinematic installment merged Christian eschatology with Kurumada Greek mythological framework. Known for its apocalyptic gothic imagery, dramatic choir arrangements by Seiji Yokoyama, and brutal physical beatdowns endured by the Bronze Saints, the forty-four minute feature closed out the original late-eighties theatrical era of the franchise. It remains a memorable showcase of uncompromising courage and brotherly devotion.
