Synopsis

Having successfully dismantled dark strongholds across the cosmos, the transformation heroine Scarlett departs from her crime-fighting sisters to pursue independent missions. Meanwhile, Koto and her fellow Cosprayers maintain planetary peace in her absence. Tranquility proves fleeting when the Dark Space Shogun, an omnipotent cosmic conqueror far deadlier than any opponent they have previously confronted, resurfaces from the void to conquer the solar system. Reunited unexpectedly on the battlefield, the heroines realize individual attacks are futile against the tyrant's dark armor. Combining their sacred transformation energies into one synchronized strike, the girls unleash cosmic justice.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Directed by Takeo Takahashi and co-produced by Imagin and Studio Live, *Chou Henshin Cosprayers vs. Ankoku Uchuu Shougun the Movie* was released in April 2004 as a ten-minute theatrical parody short. Produced under the creative banner of media company m.o.e., the film accompanied the *Cosplay Complex* and *Hit wo Nerae!* multimedia franchise, satirizing traditional tokusatsu superhero tropes and magical girl transformations. Commended by fans for its hyperactive comedic pacing, exaggerated theatrical melodramatics, and vibrant character designs, the short film served as an energetic tribute to campy sci-fi cinema.
