About the studio
Ultra Super Pictures was founded August 8, 2011 as a joint holding company bringing together several animation studios, including Studio Trigger, Sanzigen, Ordet, and Liden Films, under one shared corporate structure. Based in Tokyo, it doesn't produce anime directly; instead it manages licensing, IP, and shared resources for its member studios, letting them pool training and business infrastructure while keeping their creative identities distinct. *Basically a co-op for animation studios, sharing the boring business overhead so the creative teams can focus on making cool stuff.* Through its members, its collective catalog includes Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, Promare, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Over a decade in, this holding structure has quietly supported some of the most acclaimed and visually distinctive anime of the last 15 years, even though Ultra Super Pictures itself rarely gets the credit fans give to Trigger specifically.
