8 Franky Facts!
1- Introduction of Franky by Luffy

As the Straw Hats travel to Water 7, the crew discusses shipwrights and debates adding one to their team. During all this, Luffy creates a poorly and unevenly drawn image of his future shipwright. After Oda introduces Franky, we notice that Luffy’s drawing closely resembles Franky’s appearance.
Firstly, the picture shows light blue hair on his forehead with spikes that reflect Franky’s cool and funky hairstyle. Next, it presents a weird nose and an uneven hand that appears thinner from the upper and muscular below.
2- Franky Real Name

This One Piece Iron Man is not originally known as Franky; however, his real name is Cutty Flam. When his parents abandoned him at the age of ten, he made his way to Water 7. There, shipwright Tom took him in and recognized his talent for craftsmanship.
After joining the Tom workers, one of his teammates, Iceberg, gave him the nickname Franky because he thought his name was pretty weird. Ultimately, he adopted it to leave his past and old name behind and move forward in life.

3- Who Is Franky’s Father?

After meeting with Franky, who has cartoonish-colored hair and a unique dressing style with mechanical body parts, I found myself resembling him to the Queen. I noticed that both have bright wired hair, a special way of dressing, and most importantly, the mechanical forearm.
Mainly, this connection is hinted at in the Vivre Card entry, which reveals that the Queen had a son approximately 36 years ago and left him when he was just ten years old. This timeline is quite similar to Franky’s backstory. However, Eiichiro Oda has not officially confirmed this right now. After analyzing these different aspects, I think he could be Franky’s father.
4- Birthday of Franky

Oda interestingly introduces each Straw Hat’s birthday using the wordplay method. While searching for Franky, who is also known as Cyborg Franky, we learn that his first epithet in Japanese is Saibōgu Furanki.
Then, he looks at the first (sa-3) and last syllables (gu-9), and from this, we discover that Franky’s birthday is March 9. Moreover, on this same date, Shanks, the captain of the Red Hair Pirates, is also born.

5- Franky’s Favorite Food

If you are also excited to know what Iron Man loves to eat, you will find that he mostly enjoys hamburgers, particularly with French fries. Along with this, he often drinks his favorite beverage, Cola. That’s why Oda mentions that Franky always smells like cola.
In Japanese dishes, he enjoys eating Tendon from the Wano Country. Moreover, when it’s time to move to the kitchen and cook food, he loves to prepare a barbecue because he finds it delicious.
6- Franky Inspired by Popeye

We all grew up watching our favorite cartoon, Popeye the Sailor, where the popular character Popeye showcases a distinguished personality with a unique muscular forearm. This mirrors Franky, who drinks Cola for energy, just like Popeye eats spinach. Most importantly, both embark on sea adventures filled with thrills and excitement.

7- Devil Fruit

The fact is that Franky doesn’t consume any Devil Fruit. However, he already possesses impressive strength, and we can predict that if he starts to consume Devil Fruit, he will become even stronger. Despite this, a theory exposed that he could feed a Devil Fruit to one of his mechanical parts, thus not affecting his swimming ability.
Additionally, Oda hinted that Franky would need to eat abilities like the Jiki Jiki no Mi, which allows him to control magnetism, the Pika Pika no Mi for light transformation, and the Buki Buki no Mi for weapon transformation.
8- Why does Franky have a tattoo of “BF” on his arm?

When I see Franky, I often wonder why he has a tattoo that includes a specific number along with BF, and what it means. So, here is the answer: the BF stands for Battle Franky, a design he uses for cyborg models.
The numbers that change over time refer to the upgrades of his powers. Initially, he labeled himself as BF-35, and later, he updated his tattoo to BF-37. Currently, he carries the title of General Franky, with BF-38.
